Typical Republican 'Politics of Distraction". It's like the trumped up flag pin controversy or the 'terrorist' fist bump.. The sniping about nothing will never end. Note that it is only Fox, The Moonie Press and the politicized Christian Press that keeps beating a coordinated drum on this story. It's total cr*p and should be ignored.

Don't be fooled. The last time we were led into a bogus war and a destroyed world economy. Fear, hatred, distraction and division. That's all Republicans have to offer. ignore them.

to the bob.bob: Typical liberal response putting down anyone who has different values than what they decide for others is important. So tolerant, so understanding, so like a democrat! Coming from a group that led non-stop attacks on Bush to then complain if others do like what is going on and voice their concerns. I really could care less whether Bob-bob thinks republicans should not be allowed to have opinions. You have not successfully limited free speech yet!

Much like the reaction to the tea parties this week, the liberal left use it as a way of attacking conservatives. I'm also not surprised by the comment from thebob who keeps repeating the same mantra as the rest of the liberals when they don't have a real response. They bring up Bush..... Can you guys put that to rest? He's gone now and you can't use that anymore. Ok?

The point is that Obama portrayed himself as a Christian, even quoting the bible in some speeches, yet he allows the symbol to be covered up. A complete denial of is faith and a slap in the face of Americans, of which over 75% are Christian. I guess only when its convenient and politically savvy based on his audience.

Would the White House request that they cover up the crescent if he were to speak at a mosque? We all know the answer to that.......

You mentioned that he allowed the symbol to be covered up. You know I am a Sunday School teacher, and I am tired of symbols. It seems that the religious right and Republicans are all about the symbolism and not about substance. I am tired of Christians complaining about crosses, but yet they never carry a cross for their brothers and sisters who are in need. They take advantage of the less fortunate, and they make hate filled remarks based on inuendoes that somehow Pres. Obama is a Muslim in an attempt to stir the pot whether its truthful or not. So, if he covered up a cross, that's not my concern. God judges man by his heart, and many of the so-called Christians who will come on here and swear that Pres. Obama is a secret "Christian Muslim" (they can never keep their lies straight) will be found wanting and simply wearing symbols.

This may have been just as simple as the Obama White House said they just wanted a plain backdrop. The problem is this White House has already showed a penchant for lying and promise breaking. The he did not bow incident, the about face on small business captial gains, his statement we are not a Christian nation, the no lobbyists in my administration lie and on and on it goes already 50 broken campaign promises. Can't we get some honest politicians? It is time for term limits and automatic removal from office for outright lying in public, certainly for lying under oath and other immoral activities adultery etc.. WE wonder why our nation is fracturing and crumbling before our eyes look at the examples we set for our children. If we want people to be honest and demonstrate integrity and moral behavior then we all must walk the walk.

to cm4297: You say you are tired of Christians not carrying the cross - well it is proven that conservative christians give more to charities than others. I would call that walking the walk. While some liberals talk the talk but do nothing else. You see I said some unlike you who paint a broad judgmental brush against others. There is nothing wrong with symbols as long as they are backed up with actions. It was disrespectful to go a Christian College and then ask for a symbol to be covered up. All he had to do was go to a secular school if he wanted no Christian Symbols. I don't know if you believe in respecting others. I do and again that is part of walking the walk.

I think that they went a bit overboard as far as covering up the IHS.Perhaps if it was a muslim symbol then Obama would have been all for it or mayby something Islamic in nature.He seems to have a pention for muslim and Islamic things
