Yeah,Letterman is the loser in this round. His asinine comments bearing upon ''slutty'' dress and the sexual exploitation of fourteen year old girls that would have landed A-Rod in prison had this been performed in the real world make plain that Letterman has gone off of some deep end in his mind. Obviously,the Doublemint Twins would have gone to fighting over which of the two would have appeared on Keith Olbermanns lamebrained show had it been a Limbaugh attaching such statements to say,the eldest of Obamas girls, pulling a Louis Renault [CASABLANCA] schitck . Politics, obviously, has made a moron out of Dave,and the silence of the feminists is all we need to know concerning their own legendary hypocrisy as it applies to liberal/conservative celebrities. Do not hand us this ''off-color''crap GAGGLE. It was stupid and venal, misogynist in its application.

I thought, based on the celebrity gossip the past couple of years, that Mr. Rodriguez chases older, married, celebrity women and not under-age girls. Furthermore, I thought joke writers try to use people's demonstrated behavior to write their jokes and that similarity to reality is what makes the jokes funny. Back in the 80s I used to prefer Dave's show; I don't watch him much now but it appears he is behaving more like a high school mean girl than an older and wiser veteran performer. Maybe his true character is coming to the surface in his old age. Jimmy the Greek, Imus, Biden, and Dave are similar examples of older white guys who lost their mental filters (if they ever had them) and uttered offensive thoughts. Bottom line: sexual jokes about minors isn't cool.

I don't recall ever seeing Letterman's name on an election ballot, and likely never will. His remark was completely un-called for, and rude. Does he have a daughter? A granddaughter? Any female family member? Have any of them ever done anything considered socially un-acceptable? How would he like it if someone made such a crude remark about them? Bristol Palin is no more or no less human than anyone else, and as such, she is just as vulnerable to using poor judgement in a situation as anyone else at that age, so leave her alone, unless your life is lilly pure and free of any wrong doing! A beautiful, innocent child resulted, and needs to be protected from the likes of such morons as Letterman. That child may, someday, read his ugly remark, and he would be justified in slapping his rude mouth, but I hope the child will be spared that. Bristol was 14 years old---a child herself; how old was Bill Clinton when he used a 19 year old young girl---about the same age as his daughter? Bill not only used a teenager, he chose to ignor his marriage vows, so now, tell me who committed the worse offense? The answer is Letterman, by his thoughtless remark, as though he has nothing in his history to be forgiven for. Shame on you David Letterman for your attempt at polishing your halo at the expense of a young girl! You need to apologize to her and her family. A REAL apology from the heart, not because you are pressured into it. A lesson in "Careful what you say today, it may come back to haunt you tomorrow."

Just want to clarify after reading a few comments. It wasn't Bristol that Letterman joked about, it was Sarah Palin's 14 year old daughter Willow who went with her to NY. Bristol is now 18, but Willow is still a minor and doesn't deserve any of this especially from David Letterman who should know better. Bristol has put herself out there in the media with interviews whereas Willow has not. So those who want to justify that David Letterman is right to crack a joke at Bristol should get their facts straight, he was talking about 14 year old Willow.

Letterman is a creep who looks for a laugh by ridiculing any Conservative Republican who is available at that moment. Women around the country ought to take a real good look at the mentality of this jerk. If the National Organization of Women had any credibility, they would issue a statement condemning Letterman for his continuing smear campaign against the Palin family. But since Sarah Palin is a Republican, the leaders of NOW is nowhere to be found.

Left wingers hate Palin because she is more of a femenist, and a woman than any of their top women. Hillary couldn't stand up to her own husband when he cheated on her, and they are all ugos. I have to know what drinking binge led the editors of Maxim magazine to list Michelle as a hot woman. Is Maxim looking for a bailout?

It may have been distasteful, but it was funny and that is why I watch Letterman. To see what that lunatic will say next. When I want to hear politically correct news, I'll watch, um, the news. When i want to laugh at something insanely funny, I watch Letterman. Everybody get your panties out of a wad, lighten up, and realize it was just a joke. No worse than any other joke I've heard on Leno, Letterman, or Conan. I'm a mother of a young child, too, and although I might not like what he said, I wouldn't throw a big ol' hissy fit over it. You 'pubs are always so defensive and angry, and everything is about politics. Chill out, life will go on, and Willow will be fine.

Believe it or not I hate it when the race card is played. The wind will blow and someone will cry discrimination because it just-so happened to be a black man involved, blah blah blah...i hate it so no, it's not a double standard. I can't wait for the time when we will see people with closed eyes and open hearts. I see both sides very clearly and I'll side with whoever i think is right, i don't care if they're black, white, left or right.

That's ridiculous, of course I don't approve of grown men having sex with underage girls, or hate sex with conservative women.

By the way, I am a very moral person. I know that and everyone who knows me can attest to that. I'm an ordinary person, college graduate, blonde haired, blue eyed, loving wife and mother and I don't have to prove my morality on newsweek.com. Granted, I may have a warped sense of humor, but that does not make me a bad person. Bottom line is a joke is a joke is a joke is a joke. If there were any truth to a joke, or if it really happened, it would not be funny. I'd actually be the first person in line to chop off the unmentionables of the man who did it. But it was a joke. Nothing more.

In sum, just because you watch a movie where someone gets killed doesn't mean you approve of murder. You might even enjoy that movie, it might even be your all-time favorite. But it doesn't make you a murderer, nor does it mean that you support the act of murder. It just means that you temporarily found it entertaining (which is why we watch TV) and you should not be labeled a pro-murder immoral person for having watched it.

The "DOC" posted online and widely touted as "Obama's birth certificate" does not in any way prove he was born in Hawaii, since the same document is easily obtainable for children NOT born in Hawaii (in 1961 HI issued BC’S to foreigners). The true " Microfiche birth certificate” – which includes info like the name of the birth hospital, attending physician – is the only document that can prove Obama was born in Hawaii, but to date he has not permitted its release for public or press scrutiny.

I am a grandmother of two girls, a mother of one girl. I am old enough to have heard every kind of joke, and I admit that I am not that easy to shock. David Letterman has apologized on air for this one. I think the class thing to do is let this one die a natural death. But the right wing nuts will not let it go. Palin is a no starter. Let her go, too. As a woman, I am never going to think she has a place in the political game.
