How is Palin popular or leading anything? She has two brain cells and they are fighting. Romney is a much better representative of Republican ethos. And this is coming from a Republican... Palin is embarrassing and most of us can't figure out what McCain was thinking when he plucked out of the moose patch and put her on his ticket.

Sarah Palin has a pretty good record as governor especially compared to alot of these other governor (overall, Alaska is in much better shape than alot of these other states) and I think she is way more capable than Obama and Biden. However, I realize that perception is everything. The McCain camp allowed the media to paint Palin as a "ditzy chick" and quite honestly, she hasn't done much to help improve that image. Again, perception is everything and Palin unfortunately, will not be taken seriously as a presidential candidate. She have to work hard to break that "ditzy chick" image and I believe she can do that but it is going to take time and hard work. After the Obama Era, I believe the country will be very skeptical to vote for another candidate who will "make history".

Unless Mitt Romney gets caught in a scandal, right now, I think he is the ideal person to run against Obama or the Democratic Candidate in 2012. Also I think Palin would be a very valuable player in Romney's camp as she still have a strong amount of support and is popular. I think she would be a good pick in his cabinet or being a vital part of his team--she can also campaign on his behalf-----she knows how to work bring the people in and get them "hyped"---this will give her the chance to show that she is a hard worker, serious player and thatshow she is full of substance but again, it is going to take time to break that "ditzy image"!

I am overwhelmed with happiness as it becomes clear that she is the best the GOP has to offer.

The only people happier than me are the SNL cast members.

During the oil crisis of 2007, Palin fought to raise taxes on oil companies. As fuel prices skyrocketed in the lower 49 states, Palin complained that her state wasn't getting its share of the windfall. She successfully pushed for a law that raised taxes on oil profits. The increase amounted to an estimated $1.6-billion annually more for the state: double the amount it received the year before. Then she gave the money to the people.

It’s true: we've already checked her claim that she sent "a large share of that revenue directly back to the people of Alaska."

On Aug. 7, 2008, the Alaska Legislature approved a measure she promoted. The administration of Alaska's governor Sarah Palin now gives $1,200 to every single Alaskan. This comes to about $741-million for state residents. In addition, each resident will receive an annual dividend of $2,000 from an oil-wealth savings account. That comes to about $741-million for state residents

For a family of 7 (Gov. Palin has 7 members in her family) that means an additional $22,400.00 in income sent from the state of Alaska. WOW, who needs a job! Back to the trailer, Billy Bob!

That's a fancy way of describing wealth redistribution, i.e., downright communism. And that is real change we can believe in. Will she do the same for the Lower 49 states?

In August 2008, a few weeks before being nominated for vice president, Sarah Palin said in an interview with Philip Gourevitch that Alaska is "set up, unlike other states in the union, where it's collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs."

Every eligible man, woman and child got a record $3,269 this fall.

Well, in my state I want to know why Arnold Schwarzenegger hasn't got those big fact checks from the oil companies for every citizen of California. What's wrong with him? Common Arnie, get us on that gravy train, too.

Whomever is running in the following election better begin now with its electoral votes insuring Florida is included this year along with Michigan, and can clean up the mess of Obama black man still overwhelmed by his own win. He is unsure of world politics and feels playing the nice guy will win some support from Islamics and keep oil prices down..Oh well ...Hybrids need to be the up and coming solution because Islamics could care less on Americas financia; solutions and as you know has no love for the Americas.We have Palin who is quite vocal yet her husband is on the league looking for the independence of Alaska and all its oil and beauty maybe he has something.Anyway all said and done we need to insure housing costs have effective of the minimum wage somehow. Do you think that will happen or will everyone quit working and go for the forclosure....The banks are back in business if you check your checking account you may see the amount of fines . I believe its 35.00 a whack and why don't we use debit cards sold at walgreens to insure our monies stay our monies....most understand what I mean concerning banking institutes. Hey People! Don't try and leave your thoughts when it comes to Alaska giving its residents a piece of the oil pie. The Alaska Permanent fund was created by Fmr. Gov Jay Hammond. Palin has NOTHING to do with its creation. Yeah, we get money. Sometimes we get an extra $1200 to help us with fuel, on top of our annual dividend, which led to a payout of $3269... but you know what, idiots? WE ALSO PAID TAXES on that. Sometimes our dividends were only $300. So yeah, all you trailer trash, move up here and live on that with your two wives and sixteen kids. You'll get really far. Too cold for you anyway.

If you have NO clue what your talking about when Bashing poor Governor Palin ... then don't bash at all. Bash Palin, that's fine by me because she's the one that chooses to be in national politics. But if you don't know crap about this state...which its obvious that chrisdafrog DOESN'T ... then just shut up.

You outsiders can be so idiotic when it comes to life in Fairbanks. You know it ain't all about "ice road truckers" or "tougher in Alaska" or "out of the wild" those are all pretty much hokey attempts at shedding the wrong light on our state ... but they're produced by people who had previously never stepped foot in this great State that I WAS BORN AND RAISED in for almost 50 years.
