Here in America, we have the fattest and most well off poor people in the world. Most people in this country who are listed as poor have cable television, food to eat, cars to drive, etc, etc.

Could their lives be better? Of course, but it takes hard work and determination to avoid drugs, getting involved in crime, avoiding teenage pregnancy and other deterants that stymie economic progression. Obama just wants to give money to the poor by confiscating it from people who have worked hard to achieve it in most cases. In general, that does not instill a work ethic or pride of ownership to the recipients that is needed to grow as a person. And the more taxes you impose on those who work hard, the less hard they will work because it will not be worth the effort if they are giving 60% + of their income to some form of Govt entity. Businesses will be less willing to invest money (creating fewer jobs) when they do not get to reap adequate rewards (profits) for their investments. The poor (or pseudo poor) do not create jobs except for in Govt where they need welfare and unemployment workers to handle the distribution of tax money to the needy.

And Govt run health care will be great until one of you needs treatment for some form of Cancer or something else, then good luck to you getting sympathy and authorization for prompt treatment from the bureaucrat or politician who is running the program.
