I think John Roberts is an excellent Justice and it looks like Sotomayor will be an excellent Justice also. Based on what? Based on their impeccable academic credentials and sound records as federal judges. Their politics? Shouldn't come into it. I would consider myself a liberal but I would still have voted to confirm Roberts, as he was clearly such a well-qualified choice.

Just like we had "a historic moment when a black president was elected" now we have "I hope every American is proud that a Hispanic woman has been nominated to sit on the Supreme Court" WTF ???? On higher educated persons voting for Obama: it was youth identity politics; perhaps they had a PHD in gender sciences; it was a fashion statement or luxury purchase. The same holds true for Sodo. Are we done electing persons for their qualifications? Ten years of affirmative action, twenty plus years of welfare. So maybe now we can recognize that the laws and social programs don’t need to be changed anymore. Change yourselves, hold yourself accountable for you own actions. Personal responsibility is what should be owned. Last I heard there are 72 forms of birth control available. One of them is to say “no” another is to keep your knees together. To use yourself as a brood mare to get more money while expecting teachers to parent your child and the government and hard working Americans is a travesty. Now evern our Federal government's highest positions are "welfare" goodies
