I don't understand why everyone is discussing how Palin should prepare for 2012. She does not have what it takes to run for President of this great country.

I am an immigrant to this great country and an American citizen. And yes, I am a woman. Although I'm educated in my own country, the Philippines, I can easily tell Palin doesn't have the brains (based on the her many interviews) to hold any office, least of all to be President of this United States. She can talk, but she is all chatter and doesn't make any sense. Her grasp of issues (domestic and foreign) is so elementary that you wonder how someone like her could even be considered by anyone to run for the highest office of this great USA. Her interviews when she was John McCain's running mate last year was not only a disaster but an embarassment - someone with so little knowledge about issues to be on the national stage!

If Palin is the best that Republicans got for 2012 (or beyond), I don't think they will ever win the White House. Yes, she is popular and liked by many but the White House or the Presidency is not a "POPULARITY" contest. John McCain made the biggest mistake of his career by choosing Palin as his running mate! Americans are a lot smarter than Palin thinks we are. We need someone who has BRAINS, not beauty or charm to be President of the UNITED STATES!

Y'know, I'm sick of hearing about Sarah Palin. She's attractive and folksey and those are pretty much the only qualifications she has for running for president. She certainly doesn't seem all that intelligent. She can't seem to organize her own life. She doesn't have the stamina to stick with begin governor. She is irrelevant. The only reason anyone outside Alaska knows about her at all is because John McCain has terrible judgement. Why would anyone ever believe that she could be a president.

She cannot, at this point in her life, change suffciently to become a viable anything. We are formed, pretty much, by the time we are five years old. Sarah is petulant, incurious, narcissistic, arrogant, impetuous, not very bright ,and entirely used to getting by on her looks. She has neither the grit nor determination to put herself throught the process to learn and become capable. She didn't even do that at the thing she was best at, beauty contests; the best she got was runner up. She IS a quitter (five colleges) and her record of failures as a person (her son's criminal record; her daughters illegitimate son; the kids weird names) are examples of her inability to lead, let alone manage. She is finished. Only the media is propping her up at this point.

Interesting how Palin's family problems and disfunctionalism was not supposed to be questioned. When a person enters the political arena, by now they should know everything is up for grabs, including personal matters. The Republicans don't want their personal issues public but they love to point fingers at the Democrats and Liberals. What comes around goes around, unfortunately GOP's haven't figured out they are NOT perfect and they are NOT above rules and laws. Why is it okay for a bunch of LOSERS to rub Bill's actions in Hillary's face or why is it okay for a bunch of LOSERS to ask Chelsea about her fathers actions? Why does this not fall into the category of personal issues that should not be discussed in public?

Know this - if Chelsea would have gotten knocked-up as a minor teenager the Republicans would have plastered her all over the news - TV, Radio, and Internet. Make no mistake Republicans, especially you right-wing fanatics, you don't know how to play nice. For once in your lives be fair, call a spade a spade.

Regardless of Dem vs. Rep, she is completely uncapable as a leader. Biden could have made her cry if he wanted to during the debate. She did not have a single constructive thought that wasn't memorized already. She couldn't answer questions that varied from the prelim agenda and instead rambled on about something else entirely.

She does NOT represent the ideal woman, but instead is a warm place for all the other dysfunctional or women with family issues.

Does anyone honestly think she has the creative, cognitive, confident and respected presense to face off on the global scene with: Ahmadinejad? Putin? Kim? Etc? We would be a laughing stock.

I stand dead center pollitically. I chose whichever candidate I have the highest confidence in. Palin has -2 out of 10 points in a vote of confidence.

If Palin has to study like the dickens to "LOOK GOOD" then she is not qualified to begin with. And if she can't even take the heat from a national campaign how can any American think she is fit to be President of the United States? It take a calm, intelligent approach to deal with all of the problems the country faces and she has exibited none of these traits. She couldn't even finish out her first term as governor of Alaska.

As to the question of why John McCain picked her as a running mate, that is an easy one to figure out. John McCain was not the first choice for religious conservatives and some GOP genius thought Sarah Palin would play well to the religious/anti abortion demographic.. What the GOP failed to learn is that religous fanatacism saddled the country with that disaster of a president, George W. Bush. Hopefully, voters have learned a lesson from the past 8 years.

I agree partially with point #1. Palin needs to fade away but please do so permanently. Then the rest of the points made in this ill advised article will be moot ones.

OBAMA has MADE this his economy with all of the things he has done so far. When Unemployment goes double-digit, Inflation skyrockets because of all the money they are printing to pay for all this, when energy costs and food costs go through the roof because of cap and trade, when your health care is rationed and suddenly more difficult to get, and EVERYBODIES taxes go sky high to pay for it all, and you have Biden, the man who is supposedly so much smarter than Palin, saying that we need to spend more money (that we obviously don't have) to keep from going bankrupt (please explain the logic in that), then Sarah will probably be celebrating a landslide. Face it, the people are opening their eyes and all this is scaring them to death. the way things are going, It is a long way to 2012, and judging by where things are headed, You guys NEED to be scared of Palin.

Why on Earth should Sarah Palin take advice from a mainstream media that did so much to spread misinformation about her while covering up inconvenient truths about her opponents? She is still paying for the crime of being a strong, self-made conservative woman who had more real-life management experience as a vice-president nominee than the Democrats' 2008 presidential nominee.

Palin can take care of herself. All you reporters need to do is your jobs the way the journalism school textbooks claim you do - with honesty and without bias. Based on past performance, I'm not expecting much.

I've been a loyal democrat for 25 years, and while I voted for Obama, I really liked McCain and Palin. Governor Palin's unique story of a son in the military, another with Down's syndrome, having a large and loving family, and her rise from mayor to energy commissioner to a popular governor is compelling. I don't think, however, that presidential politics is what Governor Palin should do or wants to do. She is an intelligent and savvy woman, and it was disgusting how she got beaten up during the campaign. Of course, it wasn't surprising, because Hillary got horsewhipped by the DNC and party elites as well. I can tell you one thing, however. Sarah Palin is a unique political figure, and will likely influence politics for decades to come.

Palin would improve her standing as a leader if she would return to the roots of our nation and study our founding documents. If she were to study about unalienable rights and equality for all, she would discover that the U.S. Constitution is on neither the left or the right but is in the center. She would understand that the Constitution prevents the government from establishing politically or religiously correct personal morals as the law of the land of freedom. She would stop trying to force personal religious morals on others that her own family ignores. She would stand with the Constitution in supporting the right of both the left and the right to live by their own political/religious beliefs and morals but not their right to infringe on the equal rights of those who believe in a different set of personal morals. She would understand that our rights are unalienable and the Constitution permits the government to restrict them only when an action by an individual or group would infringe on the equal rights of another individual or group. Equality for all keeps everyone's rights in check and requires that they be balanced for all. The Constitution prevents any majority or minority from using the government to take away the unalienable rights of any other individual or group. If she stood with the Constitution in supporting true equality and freedom for all, she would become a leader of great value to our nation.

It would take more than two years of reading everyday for 24 hours to get her up to speed on what is going on in the world, figure out the difference between a "country" and a "continent" and so many other things she evidently didn't learn in any of the numerous schools she went to.

The philosophy you are advocating is libertarian, which Palin has shown signs of being sympathetic to all along, much more than any of the other major party candidates did in 2008. The fact you apparently don't know that demonstrates the failure of the mainstream media to report all the relevant facts, honestly and without bias.

Palin acknowledges members of her own family are not Republican, and has appointed pro-choicers to high office. She has never banned any library books or insisted rape victims pay for their own rape-kits, to mention just a few of the easily disprovable slanders that continue to be repeated about her.

The fact Democrats have to resort to making up so many lies about Palin itself explains why so many libertarian-leaning conservatives are drawn to her. Where there is no mud to throw, you have to make it up. I have heard otherwise intelligent Democrats "quote" stupid things Palin supposedly said. When I point out those lines were actually written by Saturday Night Live writers, and said by the actress Tina Fey, they continue to insist Palin said them. Why the irrational need to believe the worst about her, in defiance of the verifiable facts?

The facts are out there. You just have to get past the mainstream medias' self-appointed gatekeepers to find them.

Want a change let me straighten you out on a few things. Number one, political attacks are fine, that is part of the game, but I NEVER wished Obama or ANY candidate commit suicide. Obama during the campaign said family was off limits, yet stood by while the press repeatedly attacked Bristol and her infant son (criticizing her for not aborting him). Political attacks are fine, but this is going too far. Second, as far as 9/11 goes, there is enough blame to go around. Third, the economic mess is as much the democrat’s fault as it is Republican’s. The Democrats took control of Congress in 2007, but instead of looking at the situation and doing something to stop it from happening, they went on a tirade of endless investigations which went nowhere, but left the economy vulnerable to what was about to happen. Yes, I disagreed with The spending, which is why I cannot believe you are so angry about Bush’s but Okay with Obama’s trillion plus dollar deficits. Third, when was the last time you got a job from a poor person. The top 5 percent already pays 80 percent of the tax bill, and are just about to pay even more. They create the jobs and stimulate the economy. That is why all this stimulus garbage isn’t working. Yes, we lost the election (with a lot of help from ACORN), but we are still here, and we still have a voice. In the words of the Japanese General after Pearl Harbor, “we have awakened a sleeping giant.”

Palin's keys to the GOP nod in 0h-twelve:

1. Review foreign and domestic policy issues. Although this may not be at all important to her conservative base, key swing voters often listen critically to a candidate’s responses to verbal queries.

2. Start reading Newsweek, Time, or the New York Times. Hell, start reading anything. The ability to identify, by name, any common political news source will make Palin appear much more in touch with…. reality.

3. Publicly apologize for the Turkey slaying incident. Don’t ever give interviews while standing adjacent to something that has to be censored by the national media.

4. Return to college and get that Masters degree. Once again, this doesn’t seem to be at all important to her conservative base, but swing voters often cite a candidate’s level of education as a measure of their qualifications and ability to handle a rage of tasks.

5. Finally, get a condo in Washington or New York. Sure America can learn a lot from Wasilla, but Sarah Palin could sure learn a lot from just about anywhere else.

I'm not really sure why everyone keeps putting "Palin" and "2012" together. If Palin were planning on running for president one day (I don't think she is) she certainly wouldn't run in 2012. First, it's too soon in the future, and she would have a lot to do. Second, what are people expecting? She runs against the SAME opponent (only he's an incumbent now) and somehow the result would be different? Her best bet would have been to wait another term, when Biden isn't running (too old) and yet again, both parties had wide open races. (Of course, there's the wildcard — a democratic lose in 2012).

Personally, I think Palin doesn't like being a politician and would rather be an advocate. Even if you look past the money, there's a lot of issues Palin does care about and is good at talking about. Take children with disabilities — wouldn't she be much more effective as an advocate than a politician? Without running for office, she can campaign for what she believes in without having to spend so much time trying to keep her job.

Out of the goodness of his heart, he gives you an advance against your future earnings, but you spend that too, and want more. He tells you that you need to control your spending, or you will face bankruptcy, and you tell him that is why you are spending so much. Imagine what he will tell you. That is where we are right now. In 7 months, this government has created massive debt, borrowed money from our grandchildren and Great-grandchildren, printed money and they aren't through yet. according to Biden, we have to spend money to keep from going bankrupt.Try that with your home budget. The health care bill ALONE will cost 1 1/2 trillion dollars (estimated). how long will it be before those that are loaning us this money (Chinese for example) decide to turn off the faucet. Where will be be then. This is one of the issues that we are facing right now. So before you go and call Sarah Palin Stupid and all the other garbage, let's try a little maturity (Wow, I can only hope) and find out what her views and thoughts are. For the Government to function, it has to have tax revenue, and who are they going to get it from. Secondly, your twisted and socialist (Marx again) is somewhat flawed. I personally know a person who saved up his money, bought a welding company that was going bankrupt, worked 18 hours a week while his wife was working to make ends meet, and now he has expanded and that business is successful, he currently employs 65 people, and he just bought computers for his children's school. Nobody got deprived, nobody went hungry, (except for him and his family in the beginning) but he worked hard, he and his family made sacrifices and now he became a success, and his 65 employees are productive taxpayers (did I mention he also pays them well). That is what is called the American Success story. Of course you and your fellow closed-minded Marxist socialists would never understand that.

Explaining why the jobs situation, which is quite clearly horrific, is even worse than you think.

185,000 workers in the June number were the product of statistical sampling, but could not be verified by the government. Companies are asking employees to take unpaid leave. 1.4 million unemployed workers weren't counted because they're not searching for work. Part-time employment has doubled to 9 million. The work week is 48 minutes shorter than when the recession began. The number of long-term unemployed (4.4 million) is at an all-time high. There were no wage gains in June. The goods-producing sector lost over 223,000 jobs just in June. When business picks up, businesses will just add hours to existing workers, rather than create new jobs. Old business lines are being eliminated entirely, not shrunk down, decreasing the odds that the unemployed will be able to find work.

It's time for a serious second stimulus -- not a hodge podge of pork and transfer payments, but a truly big and bold infrastructure program (like what we were promised the first time, but which didn't happen) to put people to work.

I FOUND THIS BLOG TO BE VERY INTERSTING AND THE SENTIMENT SEEMS TO BE SPREADING.

I voted for Obama because of Bush's spending (with, of course, Congress' help), McCain's backing for the bailout when Obama seemed to be against it and because Obama promised bi-partisanship. By all measurements, Obama has accomplished more in 100 days than anyone before him...but I question whether these actions are benefits. Here is what he has done: 1. failed to keep his promise to make bills available to the public for 5 days before action is taken on them; 2. Signed a recovery bill that NO-ONE had a chance to read or look at; 3 given me a small tax cut that will turn into a huge tax increase in 3 or so years to pay for non-stimulus programs passed in the still of the night through reconciliation; 4. Failed to move forward on the interrogation issue as promised and choosing, instead, to line up with the Soros crowd and banana republic the last administration; and 5. ignoring the fact that the election is over and campaigning is no longer necessary he has failed to stay in the oval office and oversee that his Washington long-timers are following his presumed directives instead of serving their own long-time established and honored interests. I have long viewed politicians as our only criminal class (there is a reason politicians exempted themselves from application of the RICO statutes) and I chose to believe Obama's claim that he was different...that he was someone to be trusted. I am angry with myself for allowing belief and faith to insert itself when considering voting...Politicians lie; Obama is a politician. And...there is no such thing as a free lunch, as we will all find out in about 4 years. As I said, I cannot fault Obama for his actions...he is as he is. I fault myself for believing.

The economy is shaping up to be Barack Obama's Katrina. If President George W. Bush was blamed for his slow response to Hurricane Katrina in 2005 -- there was plenty of blame to go around, of course, but the disaster was on Bush's watch--then Obama will get the blame for his slow response to the current recession. The difference, of course, is that Katrina afflicted a city and a few states, while the recession afflicts the whole country.

Unemployment is 9.5 percent and rising fast, certain to go higher than 10 percent. And what is the federal government doing about it? Not much. And so House Republican Leader John Boehner makes a good point when he asks, "Where are the jobs?"

On Sunday, Vice President Joe Biden said that the Obama administration had "misread" the economic indicators. So what are they likely to do about it? More of the same--which is to say, not much.

The problem the Democrats have--and come to think of it, the country has it, too--is that even if you want to build something, you can't do it. That is, you can't do it without plowing through years' worth of lawyers and environmental-impact-statement-writers, nor without enduring endless hearings and lawsuits where every last NIMBY gets a whack at the project. And so even before this terrible recession, America's capacity actually to build anything--build a highway, build a bullet train, build a power plant -- had been crippled.

So piling on new money does no good, because the old money hasn't been getting spent. Getting spent, that is, on bricks and mortar and technology, as opposed to lawyers and consultants. In the past, "stimulus" was a way to put blue collars and hardhats back to work. Yet now, the only people being stimulated are white-collar lobbyists and litigators.

To be sure, Obama's federal government will spend a lot of money. The feds are asking for $3.5 trillion for fiscal year 2010, and that's not counting the $787 billion "stimulus" package, as well as trillions in funny-money income transfers to big banks--including such improbable "banks" as General Electric, parent company to NBC, MSNBC, and CNBC--through shadowy organizations, such as the Federal Reserve Bank and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

But all that money is pushing the wettest of wet noodles--because governments, surrounded as they are by Greens and NIMBYs, can't do anything.

On May 27, more than three months after President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 into law, USA Today reported that a grand total of $2 million of stimulus money had spent in Michigan, the hard-hit state with the nation's highest unemployment rate. That works out to 21 cents per Michigander. How much stimulus is that?

And just this morning, The Big Money reports that only $55 billion of the $400 billion in non-tax-break stimulus money has been spent. Jobless Americans might ask: What are you waiting for? Indeed, every American might ask the same question. Because all Americans would benefit from new roads, new train tracks, new windmills--anything at all.

In seven months:

Unemployment is skyrocketing and is still climbing. It could reach 12 - 14%; especially if Cap and Tax and the Govt run Health Insurance Ponzi scheme pass.

Taxes for all Americans will be going up if those two bills pass.

He will attempt to legalize 12-20 million illegal aliens to beef up his legal voting base.

ACORN, ACORN, ACORN. Registering the Dead and illegals for 20 years now.

He has made America the laughing stock with his world apology tours. At least Dictators were afraid of Bush somewhat, but Obama is a lightweight in Foreign affairs.

Uh excuse me, Michelle and the Kids have NEVER been attacked. During the campaign, Obama declared family off limits, but did nothing about the onslaught of attacks on Palin's family. Attacking the candidate is part of the game (BTW, Hillary became a target because she injected herself into the campaign) but the problem is Sarah Palin has had to not only fight the onslaught of attacks ffrom the opposition and even the MSM (don't try to tell me they didn't choose sides) but she was having to defend and try to protect her family. Of course, you will never give her credit for that or anything she has gotten right. Actually, the question should be between the 2 VP candidates, who has managed to look and sound the most stupid. The man you guys said was smarter than her (don;t forget Biden's plagiarism, though) has managed to put his foot in his mouth constantly since him and the most noble have been in office.

She'll be nothing but a footnote by 2102. It's only that Republican men are too proud to admit that they were wrong that makes her seem viable now. Bristol's out of wedlock teenage pregnancy was just a tad ironic, given the Governor's stance on teaching abstinance, and conservatives, in general, claim to embody "family values." I wouldn't call pointing that out an "attack" on Palin's kids. Malia and Sasha are elementary school age. It would be pretty weird to talk about anything they may have done that would be at odds with their Dad's politics. "Defend and protect her family," what hogwash. It kills me how the new conservative M.O. is to play the victim. Hillary endured much worse than Palin over the years and she has emerged a serious leader where Palin has not. Palin just has nothing to offer America except to serve as entertainment.

I don't know what you see, but I see increasing unemployment within my family, friends and community. I see the sales revenue at our family business being down 30% since January. Coincidence? How about a Govt out of control with power and spending and sending unclear signals to the business sector and to the public that is creating fear and low consumer confidence. People are saving money, which is good for the future sort of, but they are not spending at rates that help to create a robust economy. The out of control spending by the Govt is setting the country up for inflation in the future.

Lower income people receiving transfer payments from the Govt do not create jobs. Small businesses and corporations paying less taxes and given an idea that the Govt policies put in place and going forward will not be set to punish them will create jobs. Jobs, jobs, jobs is what Pelosi promised, but where are the jobs? The only entities that are hiring regularly are Govt entities. It is good for the people who get the jobs, but does not grow the economy because the wages paid are also a transfer payment. Taxes paid by others go to pay the Govt employee. Got it btao? And why are you echoing Olbermann? Todd Palin should kick his A$$, but Sarah could probably take care of the guy herself.

Dems are heading for a big FAll in 2010 and 2012.

Get a job on FOX and call it a day. She had legal bills of $500K on a governor's salary of $125K. The Palin's simply don't have the dough to fight off every stray dog who wants to go to a lawyer's office and file a frivilous suit.
