We don't know if there's going to be an Oscars or a Golden Globes because of a writers' strike. But we do know who the likely Oscar contenders are going to be. Right? Well, not so fast. We have almost everything settled for Best Actress, Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor and Actress.

The most confusing category is best actor. We have seven people with actual chances of being nominated for an Oscar. Daniel Day-Lewis and George Clooney are almost locks. Even with his SAG snub, I think Johnny Depp will make it to the Oscars list. I am not so sure about Denzel Washington.

I think Emile Hirsch will be a nominee. So, Viggo Mortensen and Ryan Gosling will fight for the last spot. And I think Mortensen will prevail.
