I saw Mr. Jackson and his brothers perform at Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium, the night that they opened their nationwide "reunion" tour in 1984, with an album called "Victory".

Michael, you alone held our packed stadium's throng in your very palm: Singing at full-throat, gliding, shaking, and moonwalking, a once-skeptical crowd left that night convinced that you were still a talent with few equals.

Based on the recent reports and rumours that MJ was niether physically nor mentally capable of even rehearsing for, let alone performing, 50 live concerts over the next six months. It seems clear that simply attempting to prepare for this huge tour literally killed him. Despite this there was no shortage of people who encouraged this ridiculous "comback tour" as they stood to make big money from a once-great performer who had clearly suffered a mental and physical collapse.

Why are we not allowed to wait and see what the autopsy says rather than speculating. This speculation seems more like something the tabloids would print rather than a reputable news magazine like Newsweek.

Whatever the cause, Michael left us with some wonderful music to enjoy and I am saddened by his passing.

"Cardiac Arrest" is not a diagnosis. You do not die "from" cardiac arrest. Something has to occur to result in cardiac arrest: e.g., drug overdose, myocardial infarction, traumatic injury, complications from infection, congenital heart defect, etc. Cardiac arrest (the absence of cardiac activity, i.e., no heartbeat) is basically a symptom of an underlying problem, not a cause in and of itself. Everybody who dies is "in cardiac arrest" but that is not the proximate cause of death. Please be more accurate in your reporting/commentary.

Apropos of this tragedy, I once told an older friend of mine when I was much younger, if I could just make a wish, I would wish to be rich and famous. And he said to me, "No, you just want to be rich NOT rich AND famous."

These days fame is a curse, and can distort you, drive you crazy, and most importantly, can kill you. So sad that all three of these things happened to him.

We all deride people like Madonna for finding some meaning in Kaballah as a way to make sense of the crazy fishbowl she is put in, but at some point, you either make sense of it (fame) with some philosophy or it consumes you.

These gen-xer's and older stars who sought fame are no victims, but they have to realize that fame in and of itself is not what it used to be, and is nothing wise people envy anymore.
