No one tells the truth about the mortgage crisis -- had refinancing been readily available at fair and reasonable rates many people would still own their homes. 100% financing has worked successfully for VA loans for years. The problems center around our credit system of charging higher interest to those who have the most difficulty paying and corrupt credit reporting practices which create an artificial picture of ability to pay. True capitalism was eaten alive by mega-corporations -- with offshore tax accounts and artificial interest in local communities. This is very news for average Americans.&lt;/p&gt;

In fact, there is an argument that lending to the bottom of the pyramid is the best risk adjusted lending to be had as per your default ratio. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In fact, in a curious twist of fate The Grameen model [not only chimes with President Obama's grass roots philosophy and campaign] and its roll out across America would be more likely to make a thousand Flowers bloom and is in fact more aligned with the US National interest than the current policy.&lt;/p&gt;
