Y'know what? I voted for McCain, but now that all the election BS is over, and we get to read these softer, behind the scenes articles, I kind of like this guy. I'm hoping for the best.

The Long Siege

It appears that one of the people way below the radar will end up in the Obama administration. Reuters is reporting that former Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Mississippi Governor Ray Mabus is being considered for Energy. Others say he may get a nod for Education or the CIA. One interesting sidenote. Google "Mabus." Right at the top are links to a suggestion that Mabus is linked to the anti-Christ. What's the basis for this nuttiness? Apparently, in Century II, Quatrain 62. written by Nostradamus, one interpretation mentions "Mabus."

But wait, there's more:

Mabus then will soon die, there will come
Of people and beasts a horrible rout:
Then suddenly one will see vengeance,
Hundred, hand, thirst, hunger when the comet will run.
Century II, Quatrain 62

The antichrist very soon annihilates the three,
twenty-seven years his war will last.
The unbelievers are dead, captive, exiled;
with blood, human bodies, water and red hail covering the earth.
Century VIII, Quatrain 77

Oy veh! Let's hope that those who vet potential Obama appointees have a sense of humour!

Richard Pryor had keen insight when he said "White people are so stupid"

I???m so fed up with our corrupt political system after breaking my back for years building my business and fighting from going bankrupt, a bunch of naïve Americans elect an even more naïve career politician, president. I and many of my business partners have decided to pack it in, I???m laying off 50 plus workers starting next month and retiring. No way in hell am I going to pay this numskull???s capital gains tax and run my business into the ground before I can cash out!

Hope for the best, expect the worst...

I can't believe so many people voted for Obama on the promise of "change." Lots of whites wanted to be able to say that they voted for the first black president - that whole "white guilt" thing came out on the 4th, didn't it?

And of course, 96% of black people in this country voted for him as well - but no, it's not about race, no way!

We're screwed.

Truth be told: The one thing I can't understand is how all of the military people in Virginia couldn't turn the state to McCain. Aside from the nasties in NH, who are as warm as their winter climate, what a slap in the face that must have been.

David: You've "absolutely" adored the Clintons for all that time? I think that you need to be institutionalized, and your nasty posts emphasize this urgency even more. Also, who are you to tell people to leave their own country.? We're gonna stay right here and fight for our country! We're not going anywhere!

DarkNLovelyNTotallyNutty. You were elated with the choice of Joe Biden? The man talka nd talks ands talks and makes absolutely no sense at all. This may work for the insignificant State of Delaware, which was meant to be part of Maryland anyway, but it won't work for the United States of America. Talk about frightening possibilities! This nut-case is going to be one heartbeat from the Presidency. The first post on this board is right. We're screwed. Royally!

haha, that comment actually made me laugh. You doom and gloom people are pretty amusing. He isn't even in office yet and you're going to start laying people off? Your employees should feel lucky to be laid off by someone who makes decisions on a whim like that. I'm guessing they would have been laid off eventually anyway.

The Long Siege

As a white person, I voted for Obama because, among other reasons, he was the only candidate who really managed his campaign well, including hundreds of staffers and millions upon millions of dollars. The man is incredibly smart, and makes good strategic decisions while taking into account the opinions of other knowledgeable influencers such as Warren Buffet, etc. Even with all the trash that was thrown at him between the McCain and Clinton campaigns, he handled it well and still won by a landslide. The fact that McCain and Clintons' campaigns had infighting and were going bankrupt sounded exactly like the last eight years of Bush's presidency...infighting and debt. Sure, it's exciting that we have our first black president, but what's most exciting is that he's intelligent and won't jump the gun on important decisions.
