In de-classified CIA docs they admit that the US used covert operations - Operation Ajax - to displace the democratically elected Masaddeq and replace with their puppet Czar all because BP and other oil giants didn't like Iranian oil being under control of Iran. All major wars in the 20th century have been started/encouraged by the global elites and it's been proven that they have funded both sides in order to further their goals. And yes 9/11 was an inside job - go to the 9/11truth page and take the challenge at www.somethingmustbreak.net . watch Fall of the Republic by Alex Jones

    Ai, me.

If only we hadn't overthrown Mossadegh in 1948 in the name of a rapacious oil alliance with British Petroleum. Our hands are tied because of that in ways the Iranian Greens don't yet understand.

Main stream America lives vicariously in these radical elements, putting their lives on the line to live in a country and society with a little more freedom and a little less security because you represent ever thing we claim to be! If you topple your government, try to make sure you do not sell to many arms to the country to your left and right, the ones we are fighting in, despite the temptation of a lot of easy money. In the mean time, we will pretend we would do the same thing, faced with arrogant government, using security as the pretext for anything because the extraordinary balance your leader uses is far more transparent then the one mine uses and that makes manipulating and shaming the mainstream into anything a little more difficult!

Obama, Eeney Meeney Miney Moe, will probably think on the issue a couple years while the Iran protesters are slaughtered. Obama will be charged with genocide before he leaves office!

Hang in there, Iranians. Obama will have to think about his response for awhile and then have a dozen meetings to figure out what his strategy should be......after the next elections.

I don't know what they want us to do. It's not like their maniac president and his corrupt posse listen to us. Besides, since we are circling the drain ourselves, we really need to fix our domestic problems. If we can.

Obama's non-support of freedom in Iran's earlier disputed elections [and Honduras, Poland/Czeck Republic backstabbing] was a cowardly disgrace. Now he refuses to support incredibly brave freedom protestors on this infamous anniversary. These liberals only stand for human rights when the violations may have been committed by American intelligence officers doing their jobs protecting this land.

They want help from us in a freedom fight? That's irony for you. And what exactly will they do when they get 'free'. Let's see, the last time they were set free they established an islamic theocracy.

Mr. Dehghanpisheh. Amazing! You're asking for some mythical policy stand from the US that requires fine-tuning beyond belief. Not too much, not too little, just right. And what, sir, is right? Iranian anti-government opposition does not conversely equal the slightest pro-Western support. They have dug their own mighty hole, and they need to climb out of it themselves. We need to maintain our distance from that country. Almost anything we do will be viewed as meddling in their internal affairs. Your, 'take', sir, is stunning.

These same people asking for the US to help them would be the first ones complaining about US interference if the US did help and they got in control. This is a no win for the US and, as much as I dislike Obama, I think he has done the right thing to keep his distance from this one. I can see no upside to the US getting involved in internal Iranian politics at this point in time. The Iranian government is not going to listen to the US and any attempts to help the protesters will only serve to support Ahmedinijad's claims that the US was behind the protests to start with. Providing this additional 'evidence' would only serve to justify the government's harsh treatment of the protesters since they could then be labeled as traitors as well as dissidents. I also do not see how the protesters can accuse the US of selling them out while also saying the US was not behind the protests to start with.

Damn, the US is broken!!! Obama should keep his trap shut, and weed the United States garden first. America can not save the world as Iraq and Afghanastan have very clearly proven! We can't even find the Taliban, let alone outsmart them! No, we are sitting over there waiting for them to find us, What the hell are we gonna do in the middle of a civil dispute with nuclear arms? Stay home Obama, take care of your people, remeber us? We the American people? Remember?

I'm sorry to say this, but the US and World security takes precedence. If a way can be found to include both, so be it. But civil disputes should be handled internally. We have no formal agreement with the protesters.
