I agree with Zoolog-a1, USA intervenes in internal affairs of many countries but judging by your comments, the USA does not want to take any responsibility for miserable results of these interventions and consequent disappointment with America (even Anti-Americanism - look at Iran???s example). Russia of early 90ties was very pro-American where people believed in American values, regarded Americans as friends and were really happy to join the ???free world ??? run by t he USA. They also trusted Americans to help us to go through our rough times. Instead Americans took advantage of Russian weaknesses by profiting wherever they could, they expanded NATO to Russian borders, sent all these economic advisers to Russia who advised Russia on the reforms like privatisation which impoverished majority of Russians in early 90-ties and created a class of super rich billionaires (business tycoons), and then when there was a collapse of Russian economy as a result of these reforms in 1998 - they just fled the country. I remember their articles in Moscow Times when they advised Russian government right before their departure to cut financing of secondary schools because Russia is too poor to educate its people, for me it was a borderline when I understood that those advisers and Americans are no friends of ours. All these ill advised policies were implemented by Yeltsin as he got credits from IMF provided that he followed American recommendations which he did, and now Putin???s Russia has to repay all those billions of dollars of credits to the USA which were used to impoverish Russia in the first place.
